Although recommended by a friend with usually similar reading tastes, struggled to get through this and doubt I'll attempt others by Maloney.
Probably more 2 1/2 stars rather than three but After a slow start it became a reasonable read. Not sure whether I'll try another book by the same author at this stage
Part of a great series !!! Love the metaphors and puns ... well-written Aussie political and crime fiction with a good plot!! Wish he had more than 4 books in this series....
Can't get file to download from the cloud. It seems to have down loaded ok but after reading for a few days I couldn't get it to open and am continuing to go through a loop of erasing the corrupt file and redown loading only to not be able to open again.
In the genre of a 'whodunnit' it could have more gripping. Quite quirky and funny parts but not as funny as I thought it would be.
A 'good read' if you know the era and the area in which the novel is set. A few too many clichés.
This is a book for all tbose who enjoy reading about the machinations of the lower forms of governemt BUT the major attraction is the comedic style of writing making you guffaw out loud
