Leopold is delighted to publish this classic book as part of our extensive Classic Library collection. Many of the books in our collection have been out of print for decades, and therefore have not been accessible to the general public. The aim of our publishing program is to facilitate rapid access to this vast reservoir of literature, and our view is that this is a significant literary work, which deserves to be brought back into print after many decades. The contents of the vast majority of titles in the Classic Library have been scanned from the original works. The Unspeakable Perk Samuel Hopkins Adams George Ellis Wolfe Books
I enjoyed this Kindle edition of The Unspeakable Perk by master story teller Samuel Hopkins Adams. It was a cute Caribbean island romance between Polly Brewster, a millionaire's daughter and a mystery man who she calls the Beetle Man because of his attire. Polly meets him in trying to escape the eminently eligible Preston Fairfax Fitzhugh Carroll. There is a background of a Dutch blockade to keep the principle players on the stage. The interplay between the two main characters reminded me of another Samuel Hopkins Adams novelette that I enjoyed, Little Miss Grouch. Reduce my rating by 1/2 star if you don't enjoy complicated dialogue. And numerous botanical and entomological references. And reduce it by another half star if you dislike slightly unbelievable plots...

The Unspeakable Perk Samuel Hopkins Adams George Ellis Wolfe Books Reviews
Love this story. I read it over and over again.
Interesting story, odd romance of odd characters.
A fun romantic comedy-drama in the Carribean. The 'Perk' is actually 'Perkins, the bug man'; a comic and socially inept yet mysterious creature.
